Burn your boats

I was reading a book from Robin Sharma, “The Greatness Guide”. I found some interesting things which I wanted to share with you all. Please take time to read this through.

Robin Sharma is an author of several internationally published books, and an expert on leadership and personality development. He is a consultant to many multinationals including IBM, Microsoft & Dell

Burn your boats

A mighty conqueror along with his soldiers marched on to an island. The island had a huge mountain guarding its inhabitants. The emperor and his followers had to climb up the mountain to conquer it. The weather was cold and uncompromising. The soldiers and their heads were beginning to back out from their plan of conquering the island. They just couldn’t stand the challenge. The emperor saw this and ordered his men to burn all their boats. The soldiers then had no other option other than climbing up the mountain. They did so eventually and conquered the land.

People tend to back out from a given challenge, just because they think they have option to do so. Whenever faced with a difficulty, we tend to back out and find excuses; this is a natural tendency for all of us. This can be overcome by a thought process where you begin to think that there is no other option other than to go for it and meet failure and success along the way. Most often, people succeed when following this. Whenever a thought occurs to back out from a challenge, remind yourself that there is no better option than to go for it. Just say to yourself “Burn your boats”

Crossing the Rubicon. A little old fashioned I believe, nevertheless used. J

It is highly appreciable to develop a reading habit- it will help us to improve our communication skills and to enrich our knowledge and to have a better vision. However we should remember that knowledge is worth only if implemented.

All: Let “Continuous Learning” be our Mantra.

A thrust on the commitment!

This idom is used as ‘ Burn your bridges’ also. Think of a similar context J

Care is the sweetest form of love...when some one says take care, it really means that you will stay in their hear till its last beat...so take care

The New Year Wish from Prafooo...

The New Year Wish from Prafooo...
O Sorry..

Was busy in the stock taking..

Just completed.. picking and counting the good and bad piled up..

Perfect.. it tallied with my books.. J

But yea… provide ample for the obsolete and the damages..L

Paid off the debts and wrote off the bad..

Closed the books..

I see the dark horizon, where the sun set today – the Sunset of a Year..

Tomorrow when the world wakes to the dawn, I’m sure the sky will bloom with thousand dreams..

Dreams about a new beginning..

Folks, thanks for being with me.. and for all the inspirations that you sprinkled in my lone alley!

It’s a new day tomorrow.. A New Year!

May the New Year bring all the fortunes in your life!
